Project Plan

The project lifetime is totally 18 months with a starting date on October 2021.

Its structure has been developed in four working packages:

WP1 Project Management & Coordination

WP2 Communication & Dissemination

WP3 Improvement of the attractiveness of the area

WP4 Promotion of the wine experience and the employment in tourism

The project management is based on the ‘Lead Beneficiary Principle’ that sets the responsibility for the overall implementation of the project to the Lead Beneficiary. However, each partner is responsible for the safe implementation of the undertaken deliverables.

LB (PP1) Municipality of Pella Greece
PP2 Municipality of Negotino Republic of North Macedonia
PP3 Ephorate of Antiquities of Pella Greece

The proposed project targets to the development of a joint strategy and the enhancement of the cooperation between the 2 countries in the field of the local development.

The project has a clear cross border character, as it is based on a joint methodology for the two border areas (Pella and Negotino) which focuses on the improvement of existing structures (wine festivals in the two areas with a great tradition in the previous years), their enrichment with a more attractive environment related to their historical background (Archea Krini and Clock Tower), training workshops for the unemployed in the same field for the two municipalities (wine tourism) and mutual participation in a series of wine-related events for the exchange of know-how and experience.

The local communities will be benefited by the project as it aims at both the support of the wine-related enterprises and the support of the unemployed offering them expertise in wine tourism. This double approach offers added value to the Programme area through its economic development, the creation of new jobs and the support of the existing enterprises.
